Massachusetts Insurance Agents Give You Tips to Save You Money:

Massachusetts Insurance Agents Offer Home Tips:

Consider larger deductibles. Different property deductibles are available for choosing; $250, $500, and $1000 deductible are available. Savings in increments of 10% are commonplace per deductible.

Try to remain in the Voluntary Market! Insurance Companies reserve the right to insure or renew properties. If you have had a few losses within the past couple of policy years your insurance company may decide to not renew you.

The MPIUA (Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association) offers insurance to properties that are not insurable on the voluntary market. The cost to insure with them is usually considerably more expensive than the consumer will find on the voluntary market.

Some of the credits that are available to insurers are:

Protective Device Credits - starting with deadbolt locks, extinguishers, and smoke detectors are available. Larger credits are available for Local and Central Station burglar and fire protection systems.

Non-smoker credits - if you and household members are non-smokers some companies offer discounts to non-smokers.

Loss Free Year Credits - if you have not had any losses in multiple years some companies offer "Loss Free Credits." Check with your Independent Insurance Broker to see if you qualify for any companies' programs.

Home Renovation/New Home Credits - if you have renovated your home within the past 10 years some companies offer Renovation Credits. If you are buying a new home, some companies offer large New Home credits.

Account Discounts - some insurance companies offer 10% "Account Discounts" if you insure your home and auto with the same company . in addition, some companies may waive service charges.

Shop Around!  Different companies offer different discount programs for different properties and property owners. Shop around with different companies to see who is offering the best deals. Your local, Independent Insurance Broker uses numerous companies to find you the best rates & service!

Massachusetts Auto Insurance Agents Offer Auto Tips:

1.) Drive Safely!

1st and foremost, Massachusetts Credits Good drivers! Companies are "throwing" all sorts of discounts to the state's best/coveted Step 9 and 10 drivers.

How do you become a Step 9 or 10? You must be at-fault accident free and violation free for the past 5 or 6 years.  Driving safely and avoiding surcharge able incidents can save you up to 77%on certain coverage items. One credit point is subtracted for each year in which you do not cause an accident or incur a traffic violation. You get a credit point for any incident free year of driving completed during your policy Experience Period as an out-of-state driver. The Clean Slate Rule can help you if you resolve to drive better. If you have a bad driving history with many surcharge able incidents and are paying a high surcharge premium, you can earn credit points by maintaining three consecutive years of incident-free driving. If you do not cause any accidents or incur traffic violations for the three consecutive years preceding the policy effective date and your SDIP Step is 15 or higher, your SDIP Step will be set at 14, a credit step.

2.) Take advantage of applicable discounts!

Here are the automobile discounts offered in the state by Massachusetts insurance agents: Age 65 or Older;  A 25% discount for all coverage items will be applied after all other discounts and rating factors, but prior to the application of the SDIP rating step.

Many glass companies offer complimentary "window etching" which will qualify you for a 15% anti-theft discount, in lieu of any other device.

Multi-Car discounts; Available if an individual or married couple own two or more autos insured by the same company and there are no inexperienced operators.
